Great Entertainer.

The problem with the Hindi Film Industry has been low life Johnny-come-lately Directors and actors who has taken over the Industry with the help of the Media pied piper morons and they have been put on the Pedestal and worshiped as if we cannot have talent. Here comes Mani Ratnam (Ram Gopal Varma, Vikaram Bhatt, etc) who know talent when they see one(Esha Deol and exception) and Cast them irrespective of the the Box office predictions. This is one tightly packaged and past paced movie with some great dialog, acting and direction. Abishek performance should make his...more

Abhishek Bachchan blossoms into a formidably engaging actor in this eagerly awaited work of popular art. The easiest thing in the world is to sneer at someone who attempts to be unconventional through conventional routes. A riveting blend of social message and entertainment is what sets "Yuva" apart. You can almost read between the lines that Ratnam crosses from one protagonist's life into another. The three-tiered plot creates a sense of lyricism in the plot. Mohd. After the creative and commercial debacle of Dil Se (1998), just when you thought Mani Ratnam had bounced back to form with the sensitive Alai Payuthey (2000) and the engaging Kan Nathil Mutha Mittal (2002), he disappoints with Yuva. You cannot help feel down after viewing Yuva because Mani was coming back to Hindi Cinema after 6 years. Everything in the film looked good - the ensemble star cast with a strong technical crew but the final film in spite of some fine flourishes here and there largely fails to work. The film depends on the novelty of the structure...more
