This is one of those films that you can watch athousand times and never get bored. With Yojimbo its got arguable the greatest screen action hero (Loene robbed him and created the man with no name which has created Clint Eastwood).... Full review

Based on Dashiel Hammet's fine books "Red Harvest" and "The Glass Key", Yojimbo has only Kurosawa's tendency to over-lengthen to keep from being really outstanding. It's still pretty good, though, with plenty of action, comedy, a very fine performance by Mifune... Full review

this is what started it. this movie is were your rough & ugly hero came from(well he's not ugly). This is the guy, that laid the blueprint for Client Eastwood. Plus with swords even in black and white it's pretty cool... Full review

This is not entirely true, while the story does borrow elements of the Yojimbo plot, there are enough differences to warrant it a fresh tale. It may be the language barrier, but I found it a minute difficulty keeping track of which gang did what, but in the end it doesn't seem to matter, the story is still kept simple enough not to get greatly confused. ...
