Unlike other musicals Xanadu saves the best for last.....the plot in and of itself is extremely meaningless, as romantic as it is.....You also have Olivia Newton John, whom quite honestly needed a film to push her career to the next level....There is plenty of empty dialog, typical of eighties films, with rough abstract editing that had barely evolved from that of seventies cinema.....But this movie has a timeless magic and camp appeal that few musicals have..... ...
