Nick Cage takes you and Miss Dern on one wild ride. William DeFoe is haunting in a brilliant casting. Perfeck movie to watch with the lights out and the kids in bed. Lynch at his best. Trippy, funny, ugly, BEAUTIFUL.... Full review

Wild at Heart is probably the most conventional David Lynch film I've seen. That being said, it still remains very far from mainstream. Wild at Heart revolved around a young couple, played to perfection by Nicolas Cage and Laura Dern. Fast... Full review

Weird, dull, gory, and dummest movie ever! No story line, lots of dialogue that goes nowhere and ends up in Tuna Texas with a long slow drawn out fizzle. Only thing going for it is Nic Cage is in it! Too... Full review

Pretentious direction, overacting by Laura Dern and Diane Ladd, a terrible Elvis Presly imitation by Nick Cage, and a story that is, simultaneously, fascinating and boring, combine to make a film that should be missed at all costs. The recurrent themes... Full review

While not as brilliant as "Blue Velvet" or as haunting as "The Elephant Man." "Wild At Heart" is a wacked vision of lovers on the run for the girl's deranged(and I do mean deranged)mother. Laura Dern and Nicholas Cage as terrific... Full review

As always Lynch relies on wonderfully talented cast members to breathe life into his family of eccentric characters, and this is where Wild at Heart is blessed, because the performances from all involved are top notch.
Cage brings his trademark "unsettled" quality to Sailor which plays beautifully against Dern and her sweet-natured, yet troubled Lula.

But Wild At Heart and Peaks complement each other nicely, even if the early episodes of the TV show point to some of the shortcomings of the film and the shortcomings of the film anticipate the failings of the series' later stretches.
David Lynch never enjoyed a higher profile than in 1990.

And bold so as to ignite visceral responses: my own first experience with Wild at Heart was at the 1990 Cannes Film Festival, when it inspired a loud mix of cheers and a few walk-outs at its premiere screening.
The logic that Dafoe notes in its world is immediate and frankly awesome, but its also precarious and often absurd.
