The most striking aspect of this film is the sheer honesty of the whole thing. Certainly this must have been a heart wrenching assignment for Richard E. Grant. To showcase one's own life through the most traumatic of circumstances, is both... Full review

Hoult is a likable enough actor....Although based on his own experiences, the portrait of divorce is familiar from dozens of TV dramas and heavy-handed films....Like a fuzzy memory, Wah-Wah has a pleasant feel....It's not primarily Grant's lack of political consciousness that holds the film back, though..... ... As a director, Grant shows less interest in cinema than in honest, personal storytelling.
It's all a bit Ayckbourn-meets-'Eastenders' on the veld, but Gabriel Byrne gives a great performance as Ralph's troubled father, Harry, and Miranda Richardson and Emily Watson are enjoyable as Harry's wife and American lover.
