...how the band seemed fairly stoned as they rudely totally blew off a rock n roll reporter trying to interview the band in a rehersal studio for this film prior to the groups North American tour. A tour that was actaually... Full review
At the time of writing, this film is almost 20 years old. When I first watched it I was a half U2 fan, a U1 if you will. Joshua tree was one of my favourite CDs, but despite being a frequent... Full review

I am not into U2's more recent work, but I love their older albums like Joshua Tree and War. These are classic rock albums that help shape the tour in the movie. The photography is sensational, and it's great to hear... Full review
When U2 arrives in the fall 1987 to start the second leg of their American tour to promote "The Joshua Tree" (1987), they already filled with enthusiasm millions of Americans with their masterpiece and they were showered with praise by... Full review

Tens of thousands of feet of film were shot during the making of 'U2: Rattle and hum', Most of it in black and white. Some of this was intentional, but allot of it was due to the fact that director... Full review

I have been a U2 fan since the days of "Boy" and "October". I was very excited to see this movie about the band when it first came out but after viewing it I left the theatre feeling strangely flat.... Full review
I love this film, and have for years. Some were unhappy with the lack of documentary-like footage concerning who the band "really" are and such...but since it is described as a "concert" film, i got what i expected...footage of and... Full review

I knew little about U2 in the 80s. I was still a pre-teen, and I was probably listening to what my parents put on like Michael Jackson, Joe Cocker, John Denver, Janis Joplin, and Willie Nelson. However, little by little,... Full review
This movie delivers U2 doing what they do best (touring), experimenting with new types of music in America and showing us that they're truly the nice guys they're projected to be. I see nothing disappointing about charismatic interviews, solid musical... Full review

So it's logical that the band would go high-tech with its first concert film since 1988's Rattle and Hum . Which leads us to the biggest complaint in the otherwise rewarding U2 3D : Better use of 3-D technology would have made a more exciting film. ... Full Review

A fairly good song, "Day" also isn't among the best from Behind . The song still works great Great song, fine video - 8 out of 10. The video doesn't do anything special, but it fits the song acceptably well. ... Full Review

The interviews are mostly insubstantial, and Rattle and Hum works better when it focuses squarely on the music. As far as how representative this transfer is of the best Rattle and Hum could look without damaging it with video noise reduction or betraying the intended look of the film, I'm not really in any position to know. ... However, as a film, "Rattle and Hum" suffers miserably.....Unfortunately, where "The Joshua Tree" sizzled the airwaves, "Rattle and Hum" fizzled in the projector booths.....They are self-serving moments for Bono and the other men and by entertaining themselves, they are completely ignoring the audience.... ... U2 certainly holds its own while flirting with the greats, but Rattle and Hum is most enjoyable when the band relaxes and allows itself to stretch without self-consciously reaching for the stars. As its title suggests, Rattle and Hum is meant to be dynamic, rather than strictly coherent. ... Full Review
