This film is excellent. After leaving Vietnam 35 years ago, this film made me think of all the wonderful experience I had there. The story of the prostitue is familar and the story of the little boy in the streets correctly... Full review

While Keitel's involvement as executive producer and co-star undoubtedly made the success of "Three Seasons" possible, his segments of the film are undoubtedly the weakest.
I point out that "Three Seasons" is an American film -- even though it was shot entirely in Vietnam, with roughly 90 percent Vietnamese dialogue -- because it reflects the uniquely ambivalent tenderness of an immigrant looking back to the old country.

Unfortunately, there's a big temptation to overpraise a first effort as promising as ``Three Seasons.
The great virtues of ``Three Seasons'' are its gorgeous, classically composed shots, especially in scenes that take place in the country: a lake bursting with lotus flowers, two columns of tall trees that magically shed their crimson petals.
