Worst Movie of 2009 Goes to "Year One....After all, Jack Black is a comedic genius.....This movie should be nominated as the worst movie of 2009, or even the decade.....Unfortunately, the absurdities of this flick were in abundance and without any sort of humor.....relies on Black to pull off the inferior writing..... ... The movie revels in its jokey lines.....These aren't bad criticisms, but a better movie wouldn't have written so close to actor personalities....It's not exciting or anything....he doesn't squash funny lines.....if my lowered expectations (and a bit of the Leaf of Knowledge) didn't make Year One undoubtedly more enjoyable.... ... But it certainly surpasses its noxious reputation, and may very well provide a few chuckles on a hung-over Sunday afternoon.....Where the picture fails to amuse, and badly, is in its attempts at gross-out humor.....while wide shots of deserts and canyons are remarkably impressive.....their first scene (Rudd's only one) is pretty funny....The current King Midas of comedy, Judd Apatow, was producing for his idol, co-writer/director Harold Ramis ( Groundhog Day, Caddyshack, Vacation )..... ... You know a comedy's hopeless when even scenes featuring Paul Rudd aren't funny.....The script by Ramis, Gene Stupnitsky, and Lee Eisenberg is a sorry hodgepodge of scrambled history..... ... Full Review

If you have a son in junior high school they will probably find this movie funny.....he has the talent.....David Cross has the best performance in the movie playing the conniving Cain who fast talks his way....This is classic juvenile humor complete with fart gags and tricks with excrement.....Two notable actors played small and rather awful parts in this movie..... ... you've probably painted yourself a pretty good picture of this utterly daft piece of cinema.....Throw in some of the laziest, silliest comedy you can think of.... ... Full Review

Far from generating laughs, the brutality of the scene is sure to leave most people stunned into silence.....It turns out that Abraham is only slightly less capable than Harold Ramis with a pair of scissors.....From there, Zed and Oh trudge to Sodom where butt jokes abound and a few loose women distract them from, oh yeah, the rescue mission.....He's played by Michael Cera once again doing the bumbling geek routine as seen in sitcom Arrested Development.... ...
