Edward Zwick is an excellent director. So, what the happened here? This film in bottom-feeding, overly violent, silly trash. It came and went without little notice--which actually could be considered a good thing taking the A-list cast and production talent into... Full review

By the end of the show, the constitution, for which millions of Americans have sacrificed their lives, just fades out. This is illicit, juridically. However, the spectacularity shown, mixed with paranoia, does grip for a while. For such a volatile film it's a genuine shame....On that note, The Siege excels.....You could make sound arguments for hating or respecting The Siege .....Had Zwick strayed too far in the other direction his film would have been neutered and devoid of any real emotion or passion.....had no qualms about vilifying Islam the film would be nothing but a slander piece worthy of public disdain and derision..... ... For a while, at least, the movie looks like a thoughtful, exciting thriller.....The film is vaguely disreputable -....it's an empty and joyless one -....The scenario The Siege imagines is simply too extreme to be treated with this much self-importance.....She belongs in a different movie, one with a glimmer of mystery to it..... ...
