We should all just go out and do ourselves in right now because this movie makes inevitable aging and end of life the most wretched proposition to imagine. I kept waiting for the "good part", the "aha, it was worth it... Full review

The Savages tells a story that many moviegoers can probably relate to. Many children choose to place their parent(s) into a Nursing Home and this film covers this subject with the seriousness and detail that it deserves. The Acting is superb.... Full review

I was expecting much more from this movie. The acting was good but the plot was dismal. I thought the dialog was going to be witty and there would be a few laughs along the way. This movie was simply ok... Full review

Great acting but unsatisfying story. It's never explained why the parents were so terrible and why the reacquaintance of the brother and sister is important or even interesting. What is relative about the brother's girlfriend?...really, nothing fresh here.... Full review

For the life of me, I can't imagine deliberately creating a movie that portrays the most depressing events of life. Why don't we create humerous movies about birth defects while we're at it?... Full review

This show has terribly sad and depressed people behaving in unethical behavior with no redeeming grace or humor. It is cold and unemotional with the exception of the all emcompassing depression. I overheard one person coming out of the theatre saying... Full review

Drama about sad people who are not very sympathetic. This movie gets better as one gets more comfortable with the surliness of each character. The acting is good. There are touching moments, I guess, although overall this film fails to really... Full review

A good film that was enjoyable but it is not one that I would watch on repeat occasions. Philip Bosco, once again, shows that he is a terrific character actor and steals nearly every scene he is in. ... Full Review

Jenkins and her gifted cast have put together an insular film that subtly examines and questions the state of elder care in the United States....Linney shines in yet another delicate balancing act that requires her to hit soaring comedic and neurotic heights, and vanity-free unsympathetic lows.....the cast richly explores the mysteries of what binds a family together and how these relationships become strained in situations of extreme duress..... ...
