The film seemed lost to pre-production stasis, but Editor & Publisher reported that Depp is set to produce and star in "The Rum Diary" which will be produced by Warner Independent Pictures and Graham King's GK Films.
Depp and writer Robinson are all signed up but the rest of the cast is no longer attached to the project unfortunately.
