Brilliant movie. Creative in everyway, with terrific acting from great cast. But if your favorite dramatic movies are "Armageddon" and "The Core" you should skip this one.... Full review

If only more people were smart enough to get Wes Anderson's films. They are complex, funny, sad, beautifully depicted visually and by the actors involved. An American Masterpiece. The fact that Gene Hackman did not win an Oscar for this role... Full review

I guess some people get it and others don't. I love this movie. The acting was great, the visuals were so quirky and intersting. I also loved the soundtrack. I wouldn't call it a comedy or recommend it to most but... Full review

But it's this air of unpredictability, both in how the film will play out and how the characters will react, that makes The Royal Tenenbaums such an original delight. With the first 30-minute act being one of the most dry and witty you are ever likely to see in film, Tenenbaums struggles to keep that wacky sense of humour and disciplined script in check for the second and third act. ... In the sharp, often deliriously funny The Royal Tenenbaums, family ties do more than bind -....while the characters are all almost alarmingly eccentric and intelligent in a potentially alienating way, they're also painfully real.....The whole film has a timeless feel, with the wardrobe....The Royal Tenenbaums perhaps feels so fresh.... ...
