This is a lush, panoramic, beautiful, and heartbreaking love story set in China in the 1920's. Edward Norton and Naomi Watts (and an excellent supporting cast) turn in performances that are quietly shattering and simply unforgettable. Really. My 18-yr-old-son and I... Full review

No matter, the film is strong enough to stand on its own as a highly dramatic film with a well developed screenplay, fine acting, and gorgeous cinematography. Well, now that I have put the time in and watched it, I am happy to report that it is a beautifully crafted film that combines a realistic relationship with the historical fact of China circa the 1920s, creating a film that is gorgeous to look at and fascinating to watch. ...
