I had just watched the "odd couple" a few days before i watched the second one. these two actors seemed aged a lot but their acting's as excellent as before, or maybe better. i laughed from the beginning to the end.... Full review
Jack Lemmon & Walter Matthau=Best On Screen Duo

How can you not like this movie? Lemmon and Matthau are great together in so many movies and especially this one. They know how to make you laugh and they love to get on each others nerves in every movie they... Full review

In this movie, Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon are absolutely hilarous from start to finish. They show even though that they fight as much as they do, they still are good friends, because his (Walter Matthau)son and his (Jack Lemmon) daughter... Full review

It is hard to believe it was only eight years ago that this, the last of the Lemmon and Matthau (or Matthau and Lemmon) films was made, and within four years both stars would be gone. One only wishes that... Full review

Any movies with old dudes fighting like my old man is funny. I'm serious. This movie might not be the biggest thing ever but it certainly made me laugh. Its a classic in my list. There's no deep message but... Full review

It is sad to think that we will not have any more gems from either of these two screen legends. Lemmon was a great actor, as can be seen in any one of his many films (particularly, "Days of Wine... Full review

Okay, so the sequel was pretty absurd, but it was Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau doing what they do best (it was also their final teaming). In this case, Felix Ungar (Lemmon) and Oscar Madison (Matthau) are driving to their... Full review

This has got to be one the funniest film I've seen with the grumpy old men, unfortunately their last, but those two are and forever will be the funniest duo ever. There quotes and acts are hilarious and unforgettable and... Full review
Fair as a movie, bad as a sequel to the original

Unfortunately, I've never seen any version of the play except for the original movie, so I have little idea about the original play and the shows. But to me this movie is exactly like every other movie Matheau and Lemmon... Full review

This movie had some real cute and clever lines, but alas these two great actors were really beginning to show their age. The film is none the less worth your time and overall and enjoyable escape. It might have been... Full review

That Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau claim The Odd Couple 2 is better than the original means theyre either playing the publicity game or theyve gone senile since they first appeared as mismatched flatmates Felix and Oscar. The man responsible for the duff screenplay is original scriptwriter Neil Simon, but like Lemmon and Matthau, his wits seem to have deserted him here. ... Full Review

Don't blame Lemmon and Matthau for this mess And the problem is Simon. Compare "Odd Couple II" to Simon's early work, compare it to the original, and it comes out sounding bland and slow and all too ordinary. ... Full Review

Even in a knockoff mood, Simon can turn a phrase. Now, they're back, having survived three decades of fastidiousness and slovenliness on their own, thrown together on the road in California by Neil Simon and the popularity of the "Grumpy Old Men" movies. ... Full Review

Film Journal International
NEIL SIMON'S THE ODD COUPLE II Rated:PG-13 For movie details, please click here . Unfortunately--no offense, now--this is mainly a case of the Old Couple, given the mediocre direction of Howard Deutch (who worked with L & M on Grumpier Old Men) and, mostly, the surprisingly bland script by Neil Simon (who also helped produce) that is hopelessly bereft of his usual easy magic for snappy, cascading one-liners. ... Chicago Sun-Times
Perhaps it seemed to the producers that the combination of Simon, Lemmon, Matthau and the words ``odd couple'' were a sufficient guarantee of success. The movie slogs on and on, Matthau and Lemmon gamely delivering lines that may contain mechanical wit, but no impulse or dramatic purpose. ... Full Review
