It tends to feel like you're wrapped up not only in great music, but also a whole body of work.
There are also screens above the stage that display everything from gorgeous visuals to live footage of whatever we're doing.
it's visually stunning

My biggest surprise was Alicia Keys.
Her mother (Donna Murphy) , who has sacrificed everything to put her through college wants Annie to get a nice high paying job in the finance world.

Conceptually, it's not the newest thing to come down the pike, but visually the filmmakers succeed by freezing several tableaus into natural history museum dioramas, giving the tale a much needed boost in levity.
The shining moment in this story is delivered by Linney, who goes from being an ice queen to a human being when the film hits its climax, an emotional change that is done so quietly and calmly and internally that you forget for a moment that the scene isn't real.

Berman and Pulcini's comedy drama isn't as funny or as clever as it thinks it is, but it remains watchable thanks to strong performances from Laura Linney and Scarlett Johansson.
Scarlett Johansson stars as New Jersey college graduate Annie Braddock, who comes to New York for a job interview but winds up accepting a job as an Upper West Side nanny when she bumps into five-year-old Grayer (Nicholas Reese Art) and his well-to-do, desperately-in-need-of-a-nanny mother, Mrs X (Laura Linney).

What The Nanny Diaries really needed was for the Supernanny herself, Jo Frost, to sit the film makers in the naughty corner until they agreed to be more faithful to the best selling book.
That's the $64,000 question the film makers scramble to resolve, throwing in every outlandish excuse in the book.

The movie starts off well.
Ditto her relationship with a best girl pal -- played well by songstress Alicia Keys -- that goes nowhere.
There's nothing to criticize in this performance, but there's nothing to get excited about, either.
