Conceptually, it's not the newest thing to come down the pike, but visually the filmmakers succeed by freezing several tableaus into natural history museum dioramas, giving the tale a much needed boost in levity. The shining moment in this story is delivered by Linney, who goes from being an ice queen to a human being when the film hits its climax, an emotional change that is done so quietly and calmly and internally that you forget for a moment that the scene isn't real. ...
