That movie is Sony Pictures "The Messengers," which surprisingly did relatively well at the box-office, raking in just over $35 million on a $16 million budget.
Its a shame that Davis part in this movie is unfortunately only a minor one but his brief presence alone gave me the creeps!

These are interesting ideas and a great horror film wouldve used them to power the narrative.
They have a very strong sense of craftsmanship and there is no reason why they wouldve made a movie as badly constructed as The Messengers - unless they didnt.

It's so intense, toward the end of what seems like a 10-minute scene you're begging it to end, not....don't expect the lack of plot to leave you wanting more.....The overture builds to a crescendo, making the scene that much more intense.....They manage to culminate the suspense in an intense scene with Jess and Ben wandering through their haunted house in the middle of the night..... ...
