Rampal, restrained and implosive, is excellent.....Street watching is very Satyajit Rayesque (please see Charulata) and it's done with quirky humour here.....When the intense, realistic-type director (Arjun Rampal) cajoles him to return from three decades of retirement, you marvel at the actor's brilliant, theatrical rendition.....So friends, countrymen and Shakespeare, to be honest Bachchan's shout into a valley is on the embarrassing side though (check out Liza Minnelli's yell fest in Cabaret)..... ... All in all The Last Lear is a good watch for all those who love Shakespeare.
The Last Lear also perfectly depicts the guilt of journalist Gautam (Jishu Sengupta) who blames himself for Harry's current condition because it is him who tells his friend Siddharth about Harry.

So when I watched "Last Lear", through the character of Harish played impeccably by Amitabh Bachchan, the director paid a tribute to the genius of Shakespeare.
The script revolves around the eccentric and sensitive protagonist and along with it brings out the beauty and charisma of theatre and cinematic brilliance coupled with some intense performances.

She is truly a very talented actor.....Perhaps she is caught in the curse of our cinema and its (ill) logistics.....Two weeks after RO, the guy shares some very interesting moments with big B and like only Akshay Kumar before him holds his own.....The script unveils very lethargically and often morbidly and without cause.....Invariably the artist placed the praise at the doorstep of his directors..... ...
