This one had more potential then it showcased, but it was still a fun movie. It was very ridiculous but entertaining. I loved Tom Hanks's character and his accent. The others fit perfectly too. Marlon Waynan's though was just too loud... Full review

This movie is pretty dang slow throughout the whole thing. Great acting by Tom Hanks of course, and the story was great, except scenes and sequences were too slow for my liking. Will put me to sleep anytime.... Full review

This time out the Coen Brothers didn't waste any time at all and screwed up their latest effort, "The Ladykillers," from the get go.
This style of music pervades the film as T. Bone Burnett is going to impress the audience with the many authentic gospel songs he has researched for "The Ladykillers" soundtrack.

Admittedly there are few actors other than Guinness (who played Professor Marcus in the original, and the likes of Peter Sellers), whose ability to play a real character is both brilliant and convincing.
The rousing gospel music that forms the film's rhythmic backdrop is terrific, but the memorable musical ingredient of the original - Boccherini's minuet - is discarded as a bit of a throwaway.
