This is a kind of genre thing, meaning you either like the 1950s musicals or you don't. If you do, you'll love this. Personally, I prefer the 1930s and most of the '40s musicals with the dancing talents of Astaire... Full review

as far as I'm concerned, this film has the best music for any musical....the story is so pretty and lively and the characters so deep and working together...the actors and actresses were cast perfectly, especialy yul brenner....this movie was heart wrenching... Full review

The King and I has been my favorite Rodgers&Hammerstein show for many years. I love the score and the only real criticism I have of this film version is that it did not contain the entire score from the Broadway show.... Full review

this is a good movie. the plot is creative. it was surprising to see Josh Peck in his role, the bully, cussing people out and using powerful words. his performance was incredible, along with everyone ele's. the ending to the film... Full review
