A strange anomaly in the cinematic world, The House of Yes was the film that made the best of everyone -- the rare example that some chastised stars could offer more than the usual easily forgotten fare. The House of Yes is extreme even for the realm of dark comedy.....All of the performances are top-notch with the exception of Genevieve Bujold, who annoys me despite the fact....Dark comedies are triple-espressos drunk at two in the afternoon when your not tired but are already wired.....One could normally write this off as a morbid sense of humor combined with a complete lack of tack and presence of bad taste.... ... There's something quite lethal about Parker Posey in pearls, and for that inspiration director Mark Waters deserves our gratitude. Soon, Spelling is witness to a strange, erotic ritual of humiliation, role playing, sex and death - because blood doesn't just run in this family, it positively flows. ... Full Review

Good looks alone - cast, set and photography - are not enough to make a good film. For all its tragic consequences, "Washington Square" is a fully satisfying film. With the talents involved behind the camera, that could have made the difference. ... Full Review
