Even the Tommy Hilfiger ad campaign, which would make one believe that R&B star Usher was the main attraction of "The Faculty," quickly wore out their welcome.
Buena Vista has made "The Faculty" available on DVD via their usual featureless, high-priced ($29.99) package.

I think this film is fantastic.
But all the young actors in the film are wonderful.
It wouldn't matter that the movie was great.
Yet "The Faculty" still profusely kicked ass.
This film deserves to do huge business.
You should know better.

The Faculty" deserves a week of detention, not so much for missing the point as for blunting it.
In "The Faculty," a sporadically engaging science fiction fable of alien invasion among the high school set, formerly impoverished Robert Rodriguez puts his money into the predictable place - special effects - and you wonder where the imagination went.

The Faculty" is rated R for violent alien attacks, gruesomely gory makeup and special effects, profanity, simulated drug use (drug snorting), female nudity and use of vulgar slang terms and some double-entendres.
That bit of paraphrasing is particularly fitting for the "Scream" screenwriter's work on "The Faculty.
