The beginning of the movie starts off a little slow and you're not sure if you're going to be able to follow it - sifting through the accents and dialog took some getting used to. But, it does suck you in.... Full review

The Edge of Love (The Best Time of Our Lives) is a biopic based on the life of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas and his turbulent love life. I don’t know what intrigued me about this movie, but I am so glad I watched it because I absolutely fell in love with it. Set during World War II in England, the cinematography will take your breath away. The writing, which of course includes many of Thomas’ poems is also a treat. It makes you wonder why we all stopped talking like that. The movie revolves around Thomas (played by Matthew Rhys), his wife (Sienna Miller), his childhood love (Kiera Knightley) and the man who loves her (Cillian Murphy). The story is nothing out of the ordinary but it is the characters that make the film. They are all written so richly that you can’t help fall for each and every one. The actors also have tremendous chemistry with each other, which was by far my favorite thing to watch. Acting wise Cillian Murphy stands above the rest but Kiera and Sienna were great as well. Matthew Rhys looks very much like Dylan Thomas but I was having a hard time differentiating him and his character on Brothers and Sisters. Must watch for those who loved Atonement and love great love stories.

Booze and jealousy make a toxic cocktail, one that's heavily imbibed with much self-lacerating gusto in the grim British drama "The Edge of Love.....None are more tiresome than Thomas himself (Matthew Rhys), one of those ghastly artist-monsters of which the movies are so fond.....she doesn't yet have the ability to dig into a character without greater support from the script and her director.....She's best in her exchanges with a very fine, persuasively vulnerable Sienna Miller , who plays Thomas's wife, Ca ...
