A good advert for the English tourist board and a pretty good drama too.....Fiennes is terrific as the brooding duke....it's not a ground-breaking formula but it works wonders for The Duchess, director Saul Dibb's entertaining period piece..... ... Full Review

Overall, the film is dark and bleak with a few moments here and there of wit or lightheartedness.
Georgiana Spencer, the Duchess of Devonshire, is portrayed as a poor downtrodden fashion icon in The Duchess .
I use to hate Keira Knightley.
