The dancing was beautiful, as was the acting. But there was no plot...hardly any dialog. The main characters were developed, I think (josh and ry). but the story never developed. I kept waiting for something to happen and it never did.... Full review

This movie was the most boring, pointless, dumbest piece of crap I have ever forced myself to watch. I love James Franco and he was the only reason I continued to watch. However, he was barely in it! That made me... Full review

Collage of characters, with fragmented conversations that give you just enuff to know what’s going on. The cinematography was visually stunning; Neve Campbell puts her ballet training to good use in a vehicle that reminds me of 17th or 18th Century... Full review

Deeply disappointing and pointless Altman ballet flick. Nice to look at but no plot, script or really anything to absorb the viewer other than the pretty pictures of ballet dancers. Documentary like feel to the film but way less interesting than... Full review

Going into this movie you must realize that it is documentary-like, where there is not much of a plot, as it is a "behind the scenes" film. This movie has beautiful dancing, however that is about the only thing that is... Full review

It is an elegantly unified production, with tastefully executed vintage touches, and great care taken with Tchaikovsky's beloved score.
True to its heritage, this "Nutcracker" revels in old-fashioned virtues -- chivalry, etiquette -- and in genuine Russian style, the tricked-up folk dances that constitute the second act's divertissements are sentimental, even nostalgic.

Neve and I would meet every once in a while, I'd show her all the transcriptions, and she'd pick out what she liked.
