I thought this movie was cute and well written. Kids will love it; girls and boys. It has some sad moments, and some funny times. This movie may be a little frightening for young kids, but other than that, it's really... Full review

What is this movie trying to be? It starts out looking like a Bambiesque cheese fest for little kids, and ends with the living dead walking around like a horror cartoon. Oh well....no matter how you disect it, you'll come out... Full review

Although based on an excelent story, this cartoon fails to live up to it. I read the book after I saw the movie, and my dislike for the cartoon only grew. In very few ways does it follow the actual story... Full review
Terrible Movie

Well, where do I start? This has got to be one of the worst movies Disney has ever released. It is very poorly done. It would scare the living daylights our of some children. Those that wrote the screenplay should be... Full review

Always curious about The Black Cauldron, I finally got around to it after seeing a DVD at the rental store. Despite a lot of grating elements, I ended up liking it overall. The movie starts off on the wrong foot. The... Full review

Although originally envisioned as a breakthrough film that would re-establish Disney as a great animation studio, The Black Cauldron instead almost buried them. Frankly, it's not a good movie, but I don't think it remotely qualifies as bad either. ... Full Review

Technically, "The Black Cauldron" is top-notch;....With few exceptions, the overall grim tone of "The Black Cauldron" feels nothing like any other Disney movie.....although I have to admit I remember enjoying it immensely when I was in the fourth grade.....One humorous scene, involving Fflewddur Fflam being turned into a frog....I liked the scenes that involved three bickering, bargain-making witches who are the protectors of the cauldron (although, once again, there is no explanation of where they came fro ... The key to the movie is in the richness of the characterizations, and the two best characters, I think, are the Horned King (with voice by John Hurt ), and a fuzzy little creature named Gurgi (voice by John Byner). The best of the Disney animated features were not innocent children's entertainments, but blood-curdling stories of doom and obsession (with a few smiles along the way, of course). ... Full Review
