Nevertheless, The Amityville Horror is a good scary movie....horror fans the payoff is the grisly scenes uncovered through a wall in the basement.....This chilling remake of the 1979 film The Amityville Horror is by far a better film than the original, with plenty to terrify lovers of the horror genre.....The scene when the pot-smoking baby-sitter is locked in the closet is one of the film's highlights, starting so innocently....Director Andrew Douglas has a good feel for the subject matter.... ... My dad fast fowarded through that scene) I enjoyed watching my brother, and my sister, freak out and cry while me and my cousin sat on my cousin's bed and watch the boring movie. I think it is not appropriate for kids my age unless it is daytime, because all four of us got nightmares (mostly because of the scene where the mom sees those red eyes in the dark) If you're in for a scare, watch the remake. ...
