I was able to notice the brilliant comedy....Although the plot is very gruesome....I couldn't fully appreciate the film yet....Although I highly recommend the film, it's not the kind of movie for the lighthearted, weak-stomached person.....Burton incorporates into the movie and I could appreciate the quirky love story between Depp and Carter's characters..... ... His voice has a raw, rocky quality which lends itself beautifully to Sweeney Todd's pain.....Burton and his team have cut out some of the songs and some of the more superfluous characters of the piece.....The big surprise of the movie was the talent of Sacha Baron Cohen.....The Demon Barber of Fleet Street may not sit well with theatrical purists.....Johnny Depp, perhaps unsurprisingly, is brilliant..... ... Believe me when I say those were pretty big shoes to fill but The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is just a fantastic work of art from beginning to finish.
I enjoy them; good musicals serve to transport me and I suspend belief and go with the flow, accepting and expecting the characters to begin bursting into song at any minute....

Johnny Depp is a wonderful actor, and I was sure he could bring the character of Todd to life.
Transplanting the script from stage to screen director Tim Burton gets rid of the chorus and their wonderful song "The Ballad of Sweeney Todd".
