Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

This is my favourite film ever Tim Burton has done it again. He has taken the old Sweeney Todd musical from the west end and has polished it into a masterpiece gleaming away. The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful! It sets the scene as it's very dark. The acting is out of this world! Everyone couldn't be any better and Johnny was superb as the demon barber trying to get revenge on the judge! Mrs. Lovett is beautifully acted by the incredibly talented Helena Bonham Carter and steals the show! I would say she acted just a fraction bit better than Johnny Depp! HER BEST PERFORMANCE! The film is not just about a barber killing everyone (what I thought it was about) it has a good dark storyline to it about revenge. The singing. I HATE MUSICALS when people sing you just want them to stop because the story could go much faster if you just talked for a bit! However a exception is made for this film the whole cast try to sing the best they can and it is clearly shown and Johnny Depp sings wonderfully considering he is an actor. The blood. There isn't that many bloody scenes but when there is it does seem as if they're overdoing it a bit but I love gore so this is the best film for me and I would reccomend this to everyone! A SOLID MASTERPIECE MY FAVOURITE FILM!!!

I was able to notice the brilliant comedy....Although the plot is very gruesome....I couldn't fully appreciate the film yet....Although I highly recommend the film, it's not the kind of movie for the lighthearted, weak-stomached person.....Burton incorporates into the movie and I could appreciate the quirky love story between Depp and Carter's characters..... ...
