The single best moment comes from Janeane Garofalo, who bucking the narcoleptic delivery of every other actor on screen, perks things up with a startling infusion of a distinct, and distinctly wry, personality. The visuals are stylish, but as cold as everything else in the film done as much for the razzle and the dazzle as to advance the story. ... Full Review

The script by David Benioff ( "Stay" , "25th Hour", "Troy" ) does an admirable job of condensing multiple characters and time periods into a cohesive two hours. Seamless special effects are used to follow the kites as they swoop and soar in an aerial ballet that will make any audience member recall the carefree days of youth. ... Full Review

The movie is trying to make a visual impact via repetative use of imagery, mirrors especially, elements overlapping from one scene to the next, but I don't think this was to good effect. This movie spins a tale that is just not believable to me and is poorly told. ... Full Review

With Stay I liked the challenge of not having that safety. Instead of having the moviemakers provide a commentary for the whole movie, which can be quite tedious, they simply have them talk about a few key scenes. Ive said too much already; please just go watch Stay yourself. ... Full Review

It's in the telling, not in the material itself or the fine cast, that the film succeeds. Not as well as the filmmakers would like us to believe. ... Full Review

So while there's a definite concept behind the visual and emotional confusion of Stay, it's one that you're unlikely to unravel until much later, and even then not all of the pieces will fit into place. The action plays out in a gorgeously shot New York City, and almost every frame features visual or aural clues about what the hell is actually going on - the voices in Letham's head being the most useful. ... The logic of this sort of film requires all the clues to drop into place at the end, inducing a rush of Ah, now I get it in the viewer. The Terrible The main problem is that, given the films conclusion, it makes absolutely no sense at all. ... Full Review
