Stargate is one of my favorite sci-fi films.
If your gonna buy a version of this get Stargate (Ultimate Edition) its cheaper by 3 dollars or so and its the better version for the technology that must be used and the features.

All five of those movies are good on their own, but when they're ripped off by Emmerich in one sprawling epic

Stargate" would find additional success as a television series and sequels to the film have long been rumored.

Long available on DVD as a dreaded (though anamorphic) bare bones "flipper disc," this watershed flick finally gets the full special edition treatment via a two-disc set loaded with some choice material.
Its 16 tracks collect all of the theme songs and major incidental music for every incarnation of the (shockingly) long-running franchise.

STARGATE is a big, grand science fiction movie that is truly a whole lot of fun.
As it stands, STARGATE looks quite good, but lacks the snap of the very best 16:9 enhanced transfers.

It's got plotholes you can drive proverbial trucks through, holes so gaping one quickly loses interest in seeing the story through because one realizes it'll go the way the scriptwriters want it to whether it's plausible or not.

Three Movie Buffs
James Spader is terrific here.
He plays a nerd excited by the whole adventure.
But all Kurt Russell does is walk through the film with a constant stern expression.
Kurt Russell on the other hand is as dull as can be.
