'Spy Kids 2' is a fantastical fun ride, but a sense of adventure eludes detection
These scenes are magical and playful
this adventure lacks both the wonder and the personal high stakes of the first film

On the other hand, the fact that the film's plot is elusive at best probably won't bother the young ones the way it may annoy grown-ups.

You dont need to have seen the original Spy Kids to enjoy this one, and we are quickly transported into this fun reality, where kids are kings and are in control of the coolest gadgets that even 007 himself would envy.

It's the best family film of 2001 (so far) and one of the most gleefully captivating to come along in years.
Not so with Spy Kids, the irresistibly fun action/comedy from none other than Desperado director Robert Rodriguez a seemingly unlikely source for kiddie fare.

In fact, in the first two Spy Kids movies, they often triumphed where adults had failed.
