It's an eclectic film with a moral.....I will admit that I wasn't mesmerized by the film the first or second time I attempted to view it.....Besides great visuals, the film has amazing acting.....The visuals during the racing competitions are visually exhilarating.....It's a touching story.... ... When this film is good it's astonishing Speed Racer's arrival on DVD is also neatly timed following Lewis Hamilton's sensational arrival at the youngest Formula 1 champion in history and will be best appreciated by eight to 10-year-old boys. ... Full Review

If you are looking for straight up realism then Speed Racer's leap from the small to big screen is not for you. Rather than a cheap tactic of throwing everything including the kitchen sink into the mix, this is a masterful use of blue/green screen, CGI and live action. ... Full Review
