It's been a few years since I saw this flick but I was pleasantly surprised at how fun it was to watch. Some people just don't get it I guess. I'm not a Dwight fan either. He's not the greatest actor... Full review

dwight yoakam was great in 'sling blade' but this movie just didn't work. even with vince vaughn and billy bob in it, the movie still was a waste of time. dwight's still cool, though, but the movie is no fun at... Full review

Generally if a movie has the same writer, director and star it shows a need for improvement in all three areas. So does SoHWoH. You can see what Yoakum was trying to do and how he fell short, falling in love... Full review

Are you kidding me?!?! Nothing happens ever! One small shootout about a half an hour in, is IT!! It was like wathcing a never ending episode of Little House on the Prarie!... Full review

Dwight Yoakam is surely a standout talent.....At that point, Dwight Yoakam had racked up three platinum records and about a baker's dozen of top ten country hits.....The songs are quite decent.....is called for in classic score composing.....He writes terrific country songs in a wide range of styles..... ... the tiresome revenge "drama" progresses so slowly....From a structural standpoint, the film has no logical flow, jumping to different locations in space and time with little explanation and less sense.....a strange, wacky interlude involving a government agent (Bud Cort) looking for Val in his old hometown--which points up another of the film's basic problems:....Quirky would-be jokes wear out their welcome quickly;.... ...
