it is much better than most huge movies.....There have been rumors of a Solomon Kane film for ages.....it was a very strong film from beginning to end....The film is beautiful to look at.....Better because they're characters you can be invested in..... ... Full Review

I mean it's great to have lofty ideas on where this movie should go and what tone it should set, but lets be honest, in 1890 when the story was first published it didn't have the critical acclaim it does today. ... As a new, medium-budget hack-and-slash film with no stars, it's a shame....The film's complete absence of irony, its lack of a need to "put a fresh spin" on an old genre is refreshing and a pure pleasure.....A pure, unsophisticated (in the best, most honest way) adventure film not designed to appeal to multiple demographics, it doesn't get goofy to skew young....the filmmakers' reliance on physical props in incredibly detailed sets is another nostalgic pleasure..... ...
