The joke is on Scorsese. The flick begins with some tribulation on the part of the Scorsese team about getting a song list in advance of the show to know where to have the cameras pan at concert's start. When Jagger... Full review

That German's love for the band's music remains intact, despite their best efforts, is not the least wonder of this remarkable tale.....irks him as much as the way Jagger now reads scripted jokes from a teleprompter.....Wood, who in one memorable scene sits with German in the kitchen of his London home discussing their plans for a book.... ... As big a piece of machinery as the Rolling Stones band is you might imagine that after 50 years of honing their craft they would be a brighter sounding tighter entity, but this do$@%#entary shows artists this legendary move in an atmosphere fueled by past successes and reputation as much as by present attempts as creative artists. If the Rolling Stones were not the rock-music gods that they are, their musical prowess would be shelved by most record producers today. The band is out of synch stylistically with each other and their tastes run toward something that wedding bands would seek, a musty throwback to a ‘classic' sound- nobody plays like this anymore! All in all when you look at this band and its members in perspective they are a bunch of old guys plying old musical talents - It's only rock and roll, and I guess that's why guys like me love it.
