O, what a tangled web we weave

This is a movie to watch because of the performance of Hayden Christensen fresh from the Star Wars movies. Could this have been done better with older more acconplished actors, perhaps. But again this is a young group as the intro... Full review

When you are pushed to the limit in the business world, this film displays a logical conclusion - hard work equals success. It's not a reliable system or even honest, but it's assumed. This film emphasizes that fact. More work went... Full review

How this guy was able to pull off this deception is in itself an amazing story. A fiction writer couldn't imagine a better plot. The fact that this guy fooled all of the people all of the time for so long... Full review

Let there be no doubt: "Shattered Glass" certainly is poking at the current onslaught of controversy surrounding the New York Times' fabrication of many articles. However, the film allows you to be engrossed into the action and mind of one journalist... Full review

It's rare to watch a movie and not want it to end. Shattered Glass is a must-see movie that caused this viewer to question everything in the media, spoken or written. Good story, excellent acting and direction and refreshing, non-offensive, dialogue.... Full review

My only complaint is that the film often fails the test of good journalism itself, being too clunky in its structure, especially in the first half when the screenplay meanders around the subject. Journalism is about capturing behaviour, says Glass, who likes to record what people do, so they are writing the story it is in their own words. ... Full Review

And the only way I can live with myself being happy about it is that I've somehow twisted it in my head to be 'Well, if that makes more people see the movie, the movie's ultimately good for America, too. As it turned out, Glass wasn't that lucky-and most of the stories he managed to "find" were simply products of his own imagination and a desire to please those around him. ... Full Review

Shattered Glass makes for compelling viewing, not just for journalists but for anyone who likes a good story. Directed by first-timer Billy Ray -- who wrote the screenplay for Volcano and has now directed Breach , which hits screens next year - Shattered Glass has been compared favourably to that other much-praised movie about journalism, All the President's Men : the 1976 classic about the Watergate expose, starring Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford. ...
