Good movie to take the wife to or girlfriend to. Yes, Shakespeare in Love was very witty, and that's okay for best screenplay, but when it comes to best picture it doesn't hold a candle to films that hit the depths of human passion, like Elizabeth(my favorite movie this year, even though it won't with best picture because Saving Private Ryan will automatically win, however I don't think SPR deserves to win, there were a lot of weak story lines, holes, and plots), Saving Private Ryan, Pi, or Gods and Monste ... I wanted to say that its flaw is that it is clear that the main characters are perfect for each other from the beginning of the film, but this movie is much too smart for that.
