Woody Allen playing, well, Woody Allen, never fails to amuse and co-starring Mia Farrow, John Malkovich, John Cusack, Madonna, Jodie Foster among others, Shadows And Fog is a highly entertaining film.....it's by no means a bad movie..... ... Full Review

I've just seen your latest, Shadows and Fog , and to be honest, it has me worried.
I wonder if the reason you insist on giving all these terrific performers nothing more than hermetic little scenelets is so you won't have to show any of them the entire script.

But gorgeous as Shadows and Fog is - stunningly shot in black and white, with imposing sets beautifully recalling German expressionist film - it goes nowhere.

As a result, "Shadows & Fog" wobbles between being an art film and a parody of an art film.
