This sequel is just as good as the original. The story has more gore and it's still clever. The acting is great, once again. The direction is different and the same as the first. The visuals are extremely eerie and realistic.... Full review

Saw II takes the concept of the first film, expands it, add more blood, story, and quality all at once. It keeps true to Jigsaw and the traps put most of the first film's to shame. The twists/ending are on par... Full review

I usually listen to and respect the critics point of view, but their reviews on this are totally unwarranted. I am a big fan of the first film and think that the creators took the horror genre and comeplety reinvented it.... Full review

SAW II suffers the fate of many sequels
There are a few slick edits, but for the most part the camera is as lethargic as the housemates become while suffering the effects of the gas that is not only killing them, but making them look like death warmed over long before the big sleep.

The best part is that you don't necessarily have to have seen the first film to know what's going on in Saw II , which is great because you really don't need to see it anyway.
The traps are considerably more gruesome than those in the first film, and mostly a little more fair.
