Salt is an upcoming American thriller film directed by Phillip Noyce, written by Kurt Wimmer and Brian Helgeland, and starring Angelina Jolie as Evelyn Salt, accused of being a Russian sleeper spy. The official release date is July 23, 2010 by Columbia Pictures. Tom Cruise initially secured the lead but the script was rewritten for Jolie.
