Review from imdb
all round pleaser
all round pleaser
With Mani Rathnam and A R Rehman linked to a project, one cannot be in to much doubt that if nothing else the music is going to be mind blowing.
But that was not the case with Saathiya. It not only had mind-blowing music and score it was one of the best movies of 2002.
The music and the respective picturisations are excellent, especially in the case of the title song Saathiya'. My other favorite song is the tongue in cheek song Choori pe Choori'. However all the other songs are very pleasurable as well....more

A remake of Mani Ratnam's Tamil film Alaipayuthey, Saathiya is about real people leading real lives. For a refreshing change Saathiya brings back the good old middle class family to the glossier world of cinema. Saathiya's story revolves around a couple - Aditya Sehgal (Vivek Oberoi), a law student and son of a barrister, and Suhani Sharma (Rani Mukherjee), a medical student and daughter of a railway employee. Aditya meets Suhani at a wedding function and falls head over heels for her. Suhani initially rebuffs Aditya's advances but he follows her relentlessly in the local trains and soon she develops...more

Aditya (Vivek Oberoi) is a bright young law student. He meets Suhani Sharma (Rani Mukerji) on a wedding function. He is immediately attracted to her, but she spurns him. Aditya is relentless and she is driven to admit that yes, she is attracted to him too. All seems set for a big wedding, but their two families meet and then fight. Most Bollywood movies would end here. Saathiya, however, follows the couple into the difficulties of marriage. Aditya is busy and pre-occupied; Suhani feels neglected. They fight frequently. Has she left Aditya because the marriage has become so painful? Aditya searches...more
