She's both pretty and a good actress to boot!....He just exudes slime!....that did not distract me at all from my enjoyment of the movie.....Rickman's was the best performance of them all.....Freeman is an accomplished actor and a very good choice for this role..... ... Full Review

From here, the plot follows its familiar course, with Robin joining and eventually leading a band of outlaws in Sherwood Forest, fighting against the Sheriff's tyranny, and protecting the virtue of the fair Marian.
At 155 minutes, the movie now seems positively interminable, but for its dedicated fans the additional information should prove worthwhile.

I never thought it was a great film, but I recalled it as fun and exciting.
A fairly bland example of a summer movie, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves seems too awkward and forced to succeed.
The script feels cobbled together and only vaguely coherent.

Buy a copy at Amazon.com for cheap, and enjoy the easy-going pleasure of Robin Hood-as-Hero.
It's no more realistic than this Costner-Mastrantonio version, but the acting's better, and there's no pretense of history like there is here.

It gets a shout of joy from the audience--the most relaxed and sincere cheer in the whole film.....Cooper would have made a lousy Robin Hood.....They complained that he was too thoughtful and intellectual as Robin Hood....it was a bad movie.....Kevin Costner is simply not the right actor to play Robin Hood..... ... On the popcorn-ready level they work on, "Hood" is a satisfying, involving entertainment.
To say "Hood" makes creative departures is an understatement.

Built around Costner by director Kevin Reynolds, "Robin Hood" is a bent-arrow epic and much more of a chore to sit through than it should be.
In "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves," Kevin Costner is so boyishly lightweight that it seems he'd be better equipped with a bag of fairy dust than a quiver of arrows on his back.
