It is hard to pass up a Sean Connery movie, especially one with Wesley Snipes. You can just see Lt. Smith (Snipes) learning from Captain Conner (Connery) and taking those lessons to Washington in Murder at 1600.Connery was exceptional in... Full review

A glance into the machination and workings of the Japanese corporate mind. Very well acted by Connery and Snipes, makes you want to see them together again. Tia Carrere has a minor role which is much more important in the novel.... Full review

The only reason why I had given this movie a four is because the actors who were involved in this film were trying really hard to pull their parts off all the way until the end. Before I go into... Full review

This movie is not always easy to understand but if you give it a couple of looks, which it is worthy of doing, all the pieces finally fit and it's a good two hours of entertainment. This modern-day crime movie may... Full review

This isn't bad, but it makes perfect sense why Michael Crichton gave up on this movie due to actors portraying characters. Several sequences make no sense because of actors portraying their character. However complicated storyline makes it worth the while. Iffy.... Full review

Would've been pretty good if it wasn't so blah... Nothing really remarkably interesting happened at any point in this film. Mostly it just went on autopilot from begging to end. Also, would have helped if Tia Carrera could remotely pass for... Full review

I like this movie for its simple, yet intricate plot and interesting peek into the Japanese culture, customs, and traditions. Rising Sun has its strengths in the technological sector using mini-CD's in their security cameras, something that rare...even in 2005;... Full review

Perverts the book to appease Japanese sentiment, but putting Snipes in the lead roll removes any semblance of reality. Also is slow, the acting and direction are cartoonish and has no redeeming qualities. Yuck.... Full review

Get past that, though, and "Rising Sun" is a decent investigative thriller with plenty of twists and turns and enough action to satisfy viewers' blood-lust. The second thing is that Sean Connery and Wesley Snipes are so comfortable and assured in their roles that they make us feel at ease no matter how complicated or convoluted the plot seems to get. ... The big car chase in the middle of the movie is ridiculous, as is the handy exposition provided by the reporter covering the crash scene. That wouldn't be a problem if the mystery were actually interesting, but it's really not. ... Full Review

Despite the always-welcome presence of Sean Connery, the film fails to satisfy completely. With much of the intended comedy failing in this instance, this is not one of the better alterations. There are a few too many plot holes and logical errors. ... Full Review

The firm is hosting a gala party that same evening attended by a host of notables, including a tipsy U.S. senator (Ray Wise) and a whole slew of beautiful people.
