You gotta wonder exactly what these people were expecting, because even with all the overacting both are famous for, this film is actually a highly entertaining police thriller.
It's refreshingly more complicated than the typical cop flick, if only for the moral ambiguities it raises.

Righteous Kill' Represents New Low For Talented Actors....of course, there's a predictable twist to the entire film....Righteous Kill' is released by Anchor Bay Entertainment....The Dolby True HD 5.1 track is good but not great, more than can be said for the movie it accompanies.....I couldn't sit through watching these two great actors demean themselves another time..... ... Rated R. It's not that the crime thriller "Righteous Kill" is spectacularly awful.
It's just thoroughly mediocre -- a standard police procedural, a long episode of "Law & Order," unremarkable but for the pairing of Robert De Niro and Al Pacino.

Righteous Kill is only middling.
There's no denying that both De Niro and Pacino are the best actors of their generation.
There are better films in both De Niro and Pacino's career that are far more entertaining.

But what makes Righteous Kill so unforgiveable is that it simply can't be bothered to be the truly terrible film that it should by all rights be.
The extras included with Righteous Kill - not skimpy, but not all that great - do little to clarify the film's existence, only offering a few hints of justification.
