This is Your Red Herring on Drugs
Sep 30, 2006

This is not one of the worse adaptations of Stephen King's work, but it's another one that makes the successful ones (De Palma's "Carrie," Reiner's "Stand by Me," and Kubrick's "The Shining" come immediately to mind) seem all the more remarkable.... Full review
I'm a Stephen King fan. Not a die-hard fan, I read his late works more out of respect than enjoyment, but I must admit he can weave a storyline when he wants to. That's why I always cringe when I hear... Full review

Not being a big King fan, I don't think I could've asked for more. I've seen IT, I've struggled through the long run of "The Stand", but it is this film which stands out more than any of the other adaptations... Full review

I've read plenty of mixed reviews on this one, and tonight I finally got around to watching it myself. Definitely a very strange movie, but certainly not in a bad way. Maybe it's just me, but Jonathan Jackson reminded me of... Full review

Arguably this is the most outrageously stupid rating on the IMDb site! Seems to me, one in every four or five reviewers has the perception to SEE this film as it really is. I would say unequivocally this is the best... Full review

I must say I was quite disappointed with the measly 5.3 overall rating this movie has on this site. I'm not a huge fan of Stephen King, and think a lot of his work is very "typical" horror. However, 'Riding the... Full review

What makes this movie worth watching, and I would say it is indeed worth watching, is the way it zips in and out of its protagonist's mind. Scenes constantly veer off into grim fantasy sequences, but you often won't realize it's... Full review

I am actually surprised to see this movie has gotten as high a rating as it has, as honestly it doesn't deserve it. Unless you are a die hard King fan this probably won't hold much appeal to you. The almost-horror... Full review

Riding the Bullet is a fairly middle of the road fright film that treads dangerously close to being silly. Riding the Bullet has a few nice moments and some occasionally sharp directing from Mick Garris ... Full Review

Their latest collaboration is the movie "Riding the Bullet," based on a short story King published online following his near-fatal accident in 1999. So, you know, we made it in a very short span for a much more limited amount of money, and yet we were able to get really great cast members that you don't ordinarily get on an independent film setting. ... Cursed with an over-active imagination, Alan constantly obsesses over the worst outcome of any situation, and when he begins to suspect his girlfriend, Jessica ( Erika Christensen ), is thinking of leaving him, it drives him to the brink of suicide. Shortly after this brush with death, Alan receives word that his mother, Jean ( Barbara Hershey ), has suffered a severe stroke and may not pull through. ... Full Review

Riding the Bullet is a dark comedy that frequently alternates between fun to watch and downright annoying. It's never scary in the traditional sense, but this film is strictly intended to be a fun ride, so don't take it seriously if you want to have a chance at enjoying it. ... Full Review
