The story of Raksha is not the same but there is a similarity in emotional context.

Critics have panned the film, but "Phoonk" reportedly saw a good opening with 70 percent collection.
Now, with its initial success, the makers are even planning a sequel to "Phoonk" that starred Sudeep, Amrita Khanvilkar, Ahsaas Channa, Ashwini Kalsekar, Kenny Desai, Jyothi Subhash and Zakir Hussain.

He is a superb actor and that's exactly the reason he is seen in Phoonk .
Talking about Sudeep, he seems to be having a terrific screen presence.
The film may not boast of known names but the subject could be interesting enough.

The special effects are not so special.
Characters pop lemon juice into their sinister mouths or run over the citric fruit with their vehicles with catastrophic consequences.

Phoonk routes for the conventional gimmicks to induce fear by opting for creepy background score, hovering camera movements and shocking sound effects.
