A great Disappointment! I was looking forward to see the movie – courtesy – The promos – but the movie itself was absolutely sick, boring and rather stupid!
Yet again wooden Katrina has been given a role so that Indian males start accepting her as an Indian actress – kinda ‘folks she is here to stay as an Indian Actress – so please start ‘dreaming’ about her they way you all dream about all other voluptuous dark skinned Indian actresses’ !
Thus, just as in ‘Namaste London’ – where it is shown that Katrian finally gives in to the village rustic that Akshaya actually was – courtesy – typically dumb Indian loser type naiveté and the fact the Indian women are dumb as ever and go for naïve Indian fools !!(its not so anymore dear foreigners – not at all – we Indian women are no longer dumb-dull headed Idiots that we were kept as (as illiterates and sex maids) –but we now possess enough brains to decipher whether a man is really simple or pretending to be one….and frankly speaking – we are the ones who keep the child in our wombs for 9 long months – so we know that our product would rather be cunning, calculating and conniving rather than being dumb…unless of course under sheer stroke of bad luck we happen to copulate with some dumb man with dominant genes !!)
Thus in this movie – a fat , disfigured, old looking Govinda who has zero civic sense – ie. he blows his nose in public with sound effects, does not possess table manners etc. falls for demure, sophisticated, multi- millionaire Lady CEO of the Company where he is working as a Financial Manager. He approaches a Love Guru – Salman Khan and asks him to teach him how to impress a girl to such an extent that she agrees to marry him and ‘spread her legs’ only for him for the rest of her life ! The Love guru tries to teach him some manners but fails at it.
In a scene Katrina asks her Financial Advisors whether she should invest some (large amount actually) money for her childhood friends’ venture – when many advise her not to do so – Govinda climbs up on the desk and says things like – its your money , invest wherever you like and not ask the advisors who are drawing a measly salary of Rs.30,000/- per month in her company !…..thereby hinting at the futility of keeping Financial Advisors in a Company !!
Point to be noted –
Rs.30,000/- has been branded as measly salary in this movie !! lol – let me tell you that there are families in India who are living pretty comfortably with Rs.3000/- per month also …Rs.30,000/ for them would be considered as lavish !!I myself (being so educated and cultured) could not draw more than Rs.5000/- in my entire career life !…or maybe the fact that I was ‘educated and cultured’ ...so could not make it big in life since its only the semi nude Item girls who are highly paid !!
This love Guru himself falls for a single mother (lara).Whether she had adopted the child or was the child a result of some ‘hump’ session with someone she was living together with / or she was a widow– is not clear ! Salman showed interest in marrying her as well as take care of the ‘mongrel’ that belonged to her !
Another guy thought of Salman as a pimp so he asked him to help him get a girl laid. Love Guru teaches the ‘whore monger’ the essence of love and does not help him as he was not there to fix ‘one night stands’ . The villain takes revenge – and defames him as a pimp. People come to know and there is a bit of misunderstanding – then things are clarified and they all live happily ever after !!
Katrina accepts Govinda after rejecting a good looking British stud her father had fixed for her. This is done in this movie so that Katrina wins over the ‘dils’ (dicks actually) of Indian males and more Directors approach her with film offers ! Katrina is made to behave and react like a typical ancient illiterate Indian dumb woman who believes in simplicity and naiveté..well – not so anymore folks – we are educated now and know very well that men who are simple are basically either losers / unsmart / non versatile and thus wear this garb of simplicity…and moreover blowing your nose in public with sound effects and being non-diplomatic is not a sign of simplicity but your uncouth / illiterate family background !! Anyways, multimillionaire and dumb Katrina accepts aged, haggard looking uncouth Govinda as her mate !! (PS. In real life someone of Katrina’s category would not have even puked at the kinds of Govinda….not just her category but even Katrina’s Secretary would have refused to marry the dud !)
Single Mother Lara married the Love Guru after testing him on ‘how good a father he would be to her son’.
Movie is a complete flop. Some men will watch it for the song ‘Do you wanna partner’ because there are many ‘g-string’ and ‘teat lid’ wearing young girls falling all over Salman …little wonder why one of the guys thought of him as a pimp !!

No.5 on UK box office top 10? How????!!
No.5 on UK box office top 10? How????!!
I just don't know how this stupid, crap, junk, garbage & good for nothing film is a blockbuster. It was so boring with a very, very weak (or no) story-line and wasn't even a jot funny. The film was about 135 minutes of only a paragraph of story about Prem (Salman Khan) is a love guru and is helping hapless & romantic Bhaskar (Govinda) to get the girl he wants. I'm not saying that I didn't like the film because it wasn't funny or anything, I will accept a movie...more

The combination of David Dhawan and Govinda has always spelled fun and entertainment for audiences. The same has been the case with the David Dhawan and Salman Khan combination as well. So when all three come together in one film, one expects the world. Inspired from director Andy Tennant's film, 'Hitch', 'Partner' is about Prem, the Love Guru (Salman Khan), who helps people in wooing the love of their lives and Bhaskar (Govinda), who seeks Prem's help in wooing, Priya (Katrina Kaif). This job proves a tad too difficult for Love Guru, as Priya is not only the heir to a...more

Film: "Partner'; Cast: Govinda, Salman Khan, Lara Dutta, Katrina Kaif, Ali Haji; Director: David Dhawan; Rating: ** David Dhawan's films are predominantly about male bonding. If it was Govinda and Sanjay Dutt in "Haseena Maan Jayegi" and "Ek Aur Ek Gyarah", the new hit jodi is Govinda and Salman in the slickly-packaged "Partner". But there is a difference. The focus has shifted somewhat from the irrepressible Govinda to shirtless Salman. Here's something to think about - Why is Salman Khan named Sameer or Prem in every other film? But he sure is super-cool as the love guru Prem in the...more

Hereâs some serious shrink think. And donât look too deep. But David Dhawanâs films are predominantly about male bonding. But with a difference. As the love guru Prem, Salman is super-cool. But we forgetâ¦.weâre in never-never land. Locked away far from reality. Writer Sanjay Chhelâs punning skills are legendary. But I still say, Mr Chhel(God bless his puns) gave his best lines to Sanjay Dutt in Khubsoorat. The bonding is littered with broad bacchanalia. The girls are surprisingly spirited and upfront. The bak-bak never stops. Salman has always had fun with kids on screen. Not much has changed since that film...more

You wanna 'Partner'? Of course I wanna do that! And why not? Let's not even get into the debate of who is better out here? Is it Govinda who shows that some-men-never-change as he gets into an impromptu 'Sarkaile Lo Khatia' act? As a cupid, Salman's job is to get two hearts meet. But doing so for Govinda, whose heart roots for his boss Katrina, is one humongous task. Reasons are aplenty. In spite of being an IIM Ahmedabad graduate, he doesn't know how to attract the attention of someone towards him. So is the 'idiot' from BHEJA FRY? Is he...more

With Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004) and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005), it seemed like David Dhawan was back on track expectations for a laugh riot with Partner were high. The film, 'inspired' by Hitch (2005) and then totally re-worked David ishtyle so that the original is totally unrecognizable looks at Bhaskar Diwakar Choudhury (Govinda) who approaches love guru Prem (Salman Khan) to help him woo rich, rich girl Priya (Katrina Kaif). In a film like Partner, one doesn't and should not look for logic or a coherent plot but at least the film should entertain and have a style of its...more
