This movie was tasteless. It started out fine, but I couldn't even watch the entire thing for being put into a horrible mood. I wasn't completely offended by the Bible conman, but the 9-year-old and 15-year-old smoking and the entire storyline... Full review

the first, a taut thriller about a madman who inexplicably begins murdering strangers on the street, another about the sexual exploits of small town Texas....Another way the film achieves its feeling of reality is through its interesting lack of music.....the last a screwball comedy worthy of the great Hawksian classics.....The film brilliantly sidesteps becoming overly corny or cute when dealing with the tricky comedy-seriousness of Addie's character....All credit goes to O'Neal the younger for her constan ... Which is not to say that this film is as memorable as that one. But it's smart and funny enough that it stands out among the current crop of movies - especially after a summer full of films that stressed action sequences over characterization and clever writing. ... Full Review

O'Neal plays the tomboyish girl you'd love to have in your own family: whipsmart, cute, and all too wise in the ways of the world. It's a loving and very sweet movie, but the way it treats family relationships and slyly questions the degree to which we'll do anything in order to take care of our own makes it truly priceless. ...
