In my opinion, in terms of plot, I would say that Ocean's Thirteen surpasses Ocean's Twelve.....Al Pacino more than makes up for their absence, his performance as heartless casino mogul Will Bank is flawless.....if people say it makes me a commercial uncultured swine, I like the remake of the Ocean's films better!....There is not an actor among the cast that doesn't give an amazing performance, Eddie Izzard as the technical genius Roman Nagel is no exception..... ... It's a rare feat to remake a good film with any kind of tonal match. Overlooking the laboured patches, Ocean's Thirteen retains the tone of the original remake - if you follow my meaning - and for that Steven Soderbergh has to be thanked. ... Full Review

It's easy money to lay down your dollars to rent this fun film (although special features junkies will feel like they rolled snake eyes since this release is pretty light on them). However, you're not supposed to give much thought to those aspects of the film and just sit back, pop the corn, and enjoy the proceedings. ... Full Review

The supporting cast of Barkin, Mac, Izzard, Reiner and others are also solid.....continues to entertain and given the enormous cast, that says a lot.....If there wasn´t enough starpower already, "Ocean´s Thirteen" features Ellen Barkin in a delicious performance and comic Eddie Izzard is pulled into the fray.....It has a dozen or more very capable actors that never compete for screentime and work together like a brotherhood.....style was far more important than expensive special effects and flashy imagery.. ... This second sequel is just a tired, tired film that had me yawning throughout. Of course it was, which is why " Ocean's Thirteen " feels like such a shameless retread, right down to its far-fetched plot, Las Vegas setting and sharp-dressed men who act like they're just too cool for school. ... Sequels rarely do (we all know the exceptions to the rule), and, taken on its own merits, Ocean's Thirteen is sparkling fun. Thankfully, fans of George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and the rest of the Ocean's gang are dealt a royal flush in the immensely satisfying Ocean's Thirteen . ... Full Review

Card counting, as the documentary points out, isn't illegal and isn't a "heist" either, not does the pyramid segment, with its lively animation and silent film style recreations, visually match the other segments. Parting Thoughts As a movie and as an HD DVD, Ocean's Thirteen is just okay, though it makes for a decent night's entertainment and the Masters of the Heist documentary, despite its problem is excellent overall. ...
