The cinematography is, as you say, a single take for each story; is very fluid; and in many cases very well acted. Not every story succeeds brilliantly but there's an attempt at some emotional truth in each. ... Full Review

I think he feels it would betray the seriousness of his nine women's lives to make a scene funny.....whether the continuous shot device adds to the movie's effectiveness.....It has the demands of theatre and the intimacy of cinema.....that is exciting for the actor and the viewer, especially as Garcia has assembled an incredible cast..... ...
